Our story
(more accurately ... Addison's story)
‘Salty’ has a couple meanings in our backstory:
The first relates to the therapeutic, soothing and healing properties of salt. The other relates to my salty attitude after struggling for over 10 years combatting my youngest daughter's severe skin sensitivities (acute eczema).
After years of trying numerous failed remedies, including prescription creams and ‘sensitive-skin’ soaps from the global name-brands, there didn’t seem to be anything that would stem the skin irritation and pain my daughter would feel.
One thing that seemed to work was the ocean. Each summer we spend a few days on the south coast of New South Wales where much of our time is spent in the ocean. Without exception, my daughter’s skin would improve...almost overnight - this was the catalyst for starting ‘Salty Dad’.
Our approach is simple - combine the best possible, locally-sourced, organic ingredients to replicate the revitalising effects of mother nature. We are unapologetically free from toxins, paraben, SLS, SLES and palm oil.
We are passionate about reviving and caring for our loved ones' skin and hope our revitalising bar can have the same transformational effect on yours.

Every component of our Face and Body bar is uncompromisingly pure and sourced from the highest quality natural materials. Our ingredients have been hand-selected for their distinct hydrating, cleansing and soothing profiles.
The Base
Coconut Oil (organic, cold-pressed, unrefined, extra virgin)
Known for being a natural emollient that can offset oxidative free radicals which may lead to inflammation. Coconut oil's naturally occurring polyphonies have a distinct antioxidant profile and has been used for centuries to leave skin feeling nourished.
Olive Oil (organic, cold-pressed, unrefined, extra virgin)
Known for being rich in fatty acids which go a long way to replenishing lost oils in our skin. Bursting with antioxidants, olive oil helps to leave your skin feeling clean, soft and refreshed.
Tamanu Oil (organic, cold-pressed, unrefined)
Known for having notable levels of antibacterial, antiviral, antiseptic and anti-fungal components - this rare, tropical oil has a history of protecting our skin against a wide variety of pathogens, as well as environmental irritants and pollutants.
The Actives
Ocean salt (pure, naturally evaporated from open ocean)
Known for containing a variety of minerals that can be especially beneficial for the skin. Sea salt is an excellent disinfectant - the sodium chloride, magnesium and potassium in sea salt can help reduce toxins accumulated during our hectic daily schedules.
activated charcoal (organic coconut husk, ultrafine, steam activated)
Known for its exfoliating properties that helps to leave your skin feeling refined, refreshed and clean. Essentially, you can think of activated charcoal as one of nature's ultimate detoxifiers given its toxin-trapping, pore-cleansing power.
manuka honey (organic, MGO +1000)
Known for being rich in natural anti-inflammatory and anti-proliferagents. Manuka honey has notable antibacterial properties due to the presence of hydrogen peroxide – a natural antibacterial – that has a history of use in cleaning skin.
The Essentials
blue tansy oil (steam distilled, pure, therapeutic grade essential oil, organic)
Known for being packed with the antioxidants 'chamazulene' and 'a-bisabolol', both of which have been used for centuries to soothe and calm skin.
Tea tree oil (steam distilled, pure, therapeutic grade essential oil, organic)
Known for its naturally occurring anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties when mixed with a suitable carrier oil - in our case it blends perfectly with our coconut, olive and tamanu oil base.
chamomile oil (steam distilled, pure, therapeutic grade essential oil, organic)
Known for being rich with with antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. For centuries, chamomile oil has been used as an 'all-in-one' source for beautiful skin and continues to grow in popularity due to its rejuvenating properties.
